This week saw a continuation of the widespread arrest campaign of regime-era officers. The arrests continue to target high-level officers, particularly Air Force and intelligence members. The Ministry of Interior announced seven batches of arrests across Damascus, Homs, and the coast, resulting in at least 11 detained men. Among them are six former Syrian Air Force officers.
Killings remained limited this week, with the most significant event being the killing of two Shia farmers in the Qusayr countryside. This killing came just a few days after gunmen killed an off-duty soldier in the same area. In Homs City, security forces conducted a two-day drug enforcement operation, dismantling a nine-person drug gang in the city.
